A career in seven chapters

MyStory

The only page on this site where I talk about myself. From the academic career I walked away from to the international rebrand that put Under Labz on the map: seven chapters, numbers instead of adjectives.

01

The Choice

I started out in the most unlikely way possible for someone who now lives off marketing: studying Veterinary Medicine at UFU, then a master's in Animal Reproduction at UNESP Jaboticabal. I liked the field. But it was the strikes, and watching my own professors grow disillusioned with the career, that showed me that path wasn't going to take me where I wanted to go.

I walked away from the security of an academic career to bet on what had always been my real passion: the fitness world. Years later, already inside the market, I went back to school for an MBA in Controllership and Finance at FEA-USP. Because strategy without numbers is just guesswork.

02

A Camera That Overheated

I met the athlete Fernando Sardinha: a guy with 98 titles, a great communicator, whose career nobody was managing. I proposed a handshake deal: I'd handle his visibility and keep 30% of whatever we sold because of it. My pay tied to the result. That standard never changed.

Pay tied to the result

I bought a Nikon D90, one of the first cameras on the market that could shoot video. It overheated and needed to rest every five minutes of recording. That limitation forced me, the hard way, to learn what became my signature: cut the fluff and get straight to the point.

I read every single comment on the videos to understand what the audience wanted. In no time, half a million views on YouTube. That's when it clicked for good: whoever has an audience and attention has everything.

03

Discovering the Two Authorities

Sardinha had plenty of earned authority: the titles, the knowledge, the track record. What he lacked was perceived authority: the market simply couldn't see any of it. I rebuilt his entire career, from the videos to Instagram, from his message to his positioning.

When the two authorities met, the results exploded. Talks that barely covered gas money to get there started getting booked by the biggest events in the country. The biggest sponsors in Brazilian fitness came calling. And the Sardinha Evolution digital product line became one of the most profitable assets of his career.

The partnership lasted 15 years. And it gave me definitive proof of the method: the moment the strategic content stopped, sales dropped the very next month, even with paid traffic holding steady. Strategic content is what makes people buy. I learned that firsthand, 17 years before it became common wisdom.

The Method Travels to Other Niches

Nutritionists, aesthetic clinics, coffee shops, clinical labs. The niche changes; the strategy doesn't, as long as you find the audience's vital pain point. Nobody wants the process. Nobody wants to "lose weight." People want what weight loss represents: the new relationship, the beach, the white bikini in summer.

That's how I grew Coach Rubens Gomes' channel from 250,000 to over 1 million subscribers in just a few months. And, more importantly, I developed a methodology there for selling directly through YouTube: over 50,000 digital products sold without a single real of paid traffic, feeding a funnel that ran from a R$29 entry-level product all the way up to a R$2,000-a-month consulting package.

With Vivi Winkler, the channel went from zero to 700,000 subscribers. And with it came visibility, contracts, and partnerships.

Dragon Army: Belonging as a Product

Dragon Pharma, the American supplement brand, brought me on to bring one of the owners' dreams to life: a community of brand-obsessed "soldiers." I applied the same logic as always. What was vital there wasn't the supplement, it was belonging.

At launch, we put over 46,000 people on the site within the first few seconds, using a mechanic built entirely on exclusivity: the official Dragon Army t-shirt had no price tag. Only members could get one. Constant livestreams, classes for the community, even a psychologist to help members get over their fear of public speaking. All without ever talking about the product itself. I stayed on the project for three and a half years.

Under Labz: The Rebrand the World Noticed

I came back to Brazil determined to build my own supplement brand and reached out to Under Labz about a production partnership. They liked the conversation so much they invited me to become a partner. And after seeing what my marketing work delivered (starting with the YouTube channel, which quickly blew past 100,000 subscribers), they offered me a role I'd never held before: marketing director. I took the challenge.

In nearly four years leading marketing:

  • Complete Rebrand

I led the reconstruction of the entire brand, from visual identity to messaging.

  • The Caos Mascot

I created the character that became one of the brand's biggest assets. His expression changes with the product's benefit, melting on the fat burner, a fighter pilot on the pre-workout.

  • Packaging as Craft

The packaging became handmade pieces, treated as works of art, with the flavors printed right on the mascot's face.

  • Worldwide Recognition

Today

I'm an official Mercado Livre consultant, part of the platinum consultancy tier, the largest fitness and supplement consultancy in Brazil on the platform. Today I bring together the two sides I spent 17 years learning to master: the conversion channel (marketplace) and the acquisition channel (strategic content and authority building).

17 years in the market. My pay has always been tied to the success I generate for the people I work with.
